Australian Magpie Painting

Native to Australia and an accomplished songster, the magpie is not closely related to the Eurasian magpie, which is a corvid. The Australian magpie has gained the unfortunate reputation of dive bombing pedestrians during nesting time, however, studies reveal that only around 10% of male magpies do this.

Australian Magpie (Cracticus tibicen).
