A study of an Azure Kingfisher, an original gouache painting by Amanda Gosse.

The Azure Kingfisher, scientific name Alcedo azurea, is found in northern and eastern Australia and in parts of Southeast Asia and some Pacific Islands. It is renowned for its vibrant, iridescent plumage of deep blues turquoise and oranges. This small, striking bird is often seen perched near freshwater streams and rivers, into which it dives skilfully to catch small fish and insects.

Gouache paint and colour pencil on high quality 300gsm watercolour paper.

A4 — 21cm x 29.7cm.

Signed on the front. A certificate of authenticity will be provided with the artwork. The painting will arrive unframed, in a protective cellophane envelope.
