The flame robin (Petroica phoenicea) is a small bird found in south-eastern Australia, identifiable by its vivid red-orange breast and throat set against a dark grey body and striking white wing markings. During the winter months, some migrate to lower altitudes, where they can be spotted in open woodlands and grassy areas, feeding on insects and small arthropods.
