A single vintage glass marble – green and blue swirling within a perfect sphere. Once a playground staple, glass marbles were the currency of childhood: collected, traded, won and lost. 

Remembering the clink of marbles in a pocket, this painting brings the same close, patient attention to the marble that rendering it required: the way light moves through the glass, the depth of colour and the satisfying geometry.
