Original Gouache Painting

This painting comprises a gold boomerang, star and Australia map brooch, set with a blue sapphire, with a black and white photo of a P&O ship and a £10 note from the era.

From 1945 to 1972, over one million people left the UK to begin a new life in Australia and New Zealand. This migration of people was in response to the British and Australian governments' assisted passage scheme, set up to expand Australia's workforce, which had shrunk during WWII.
